Lighthouse Learning Center offers an ACADEMIC after school program where our primary focus is for each student to complete the homework successfully. The cost for the after school program *special is $325 per month. Sign up early, because Lighthouse normally limits their after school enrollment. After School Program (K-8)

  • 4:45-6:00 Break and/or continue with homework

How do I enroll my student?

To enroll with the after school program simply gives us a call to setup a meeting or stop by to meet with our program director. During this meeting the program director will be able to answer any questions you may have regarding the program and will guide you through the registration process. To register, a parent or guardian must complete the parent contract, information form and pay a registration fee. After this has been completed the student can begin attending the program the following day. For further information, please see our admission policy.

Cost

Special is $325 per month and you will need to pre-pay for the entire semester + $50 semester material fee (special ends 10/15/2010 for fall and 3/15/2011 for spring). You can also choose to pay month to month which will be $350 per month. Early morning drop off is $125 per month. Grades 1 and up

Kindergarten Rates Special1rates for 11:30-2:30 is $250 and 11:30-6:00 is $500 per month. For the special, you will need to pre-pay for the entire semester + $50 semester material fee. You can also choose to pay month to month which will be $300 for 11:30-2:30 and $550 for 11:30-6:00 per month. Early morning drop off is $125 per month.

Kindergarten Program
If your child is in an AM kindergarten program, we have a program perfect for you. We will pick up your child from school and bring them back to our center where they will have time to complete their homework, receive a snack, attend enrichment classes and more (*11:30-2:30 is $250 and 11:30-6:00 is $500 special).

Transportation
Lighthouse Learning Center will pick up your student from school and bring them back to our state of the art facilities located in the northwest corner of Copperhill and Newhall Ranch (near Walmart). We currently pickup from schools including Tesoro Elementary, Bridgeport Elementary, Castaic Elementary, Rio Norte Jr. High, Rancho Pico Junior High, and many others. Our policy is simple for transportation, each child MUST have a seat belt and if applicable, younger students are provided a booster chair.

Snack
Upon arrival to Lighthouse, the students are provided with a light snack and given a few minutes to settle in before starting their homework. In addition to the normal snack, students are welcome to bring their own snacks or purchase snacks from our vending machines.

Assistance with Homework
The primary focus of our after school program is helping students complete their homework correctly. Towards this we strive to check every student's work and the after-school coordinator spends his/her time helping students. Lighthouse recognizes that academics are very important and strives to provide an environment that encourages academic success.

Enrichment Classes
These classes (ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour) supplement your child's regular education and provide interactive instruction designed to help your student succeed. These classes have included Introduction to Spanish, Writing I, English I, Reading, Cooking, Origami, Chess, Art and more. Fee is $90 for a 7 week class.

Break Time
At Lighthouse we recognize that students need time to simply enjoy being children. Towards this Lighthouse possess a 2000 sq. ft recreation area with a trampoline, basketball hoop, ping-pong, board games, and other activities. These activities allow our students to interact and develop social skills in a safe and fun environment.

Minimum Days and No-School Days
Minimum days are covered in your monthly payments and days where students will need to attend Lighthouse all day due to school holiday, there is a $40 charge. On minimum days and no-school days, the After school program will often go an excursion (out for lunch, go to the park, etc) or have extended breaktimes. When school is out on longer breaks (ex. winter break, spring break, etc.) the cost for a full week is $150.

Hours

  • Early Morning Drop Off- we open at 6:30 AM and will take your child to school. Cost is $125 per month for the early morning drop off.
  • After School- students will need to be picked up by 6:00 PM.
  • Walk Ins-we are in the office from 1-6pm M-TH, if you are interested in seeing the facility or talking to the director. If 1-6 does not work for you, please call and make an appointment 661-373-5541.
