For-Credit Classes

Fall & Spring Session

During the fall and spring, students can take the classes which are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays or complete it in a private tutoring format.  Classes will start September 14 and end December 14.  Students can join the class whether they are taking the class for credit or not for credit (if students are not taking this class for credit, this is an excellent way to supplement what they are learning at school and not having to pay the high cost of private tutoring.)  Due to the pay structure, LLC will run classes with even 1 student.  Students can also join the class even if the class has already started.

Cost will depend on the number of students that are in the class, LLC will follow...
1 student, $42 per hour
2 students, $25 per hour
3 students, $20 per hour
4 or more students, $ 15 per hour

How do Lighthouse For-Credit Classes work?

  • Classes are conducted over a four-week period (except for private tutoring and winter format). During each week the student will attend 3 lectures lasting 2 hours and 45 minutes. During the course of the program they will receive 33 hours of lecture and take quizzes and exams outside of instruction time.
  • The student will have homework, quizzes, and exams through the four week period.
  • Upon completion of the class, Lighthouse will send a transcript to the student's school indicating their completion of the class.

Weekly Lectures

  • The primary instruction for the math program comes through a small group lecture (3-12 students). Lighthouse’s math program runs small class sizes to provide focused instruction. Each class session is two hours and forty-five minutes in length. If a student is absent for a lecture, that student is required to complete 1 hour of private instruction for each two hours of missed class (for an additional charge) to cover this missing portion.

Private Tutoring

  • Due to the accelerated pace of the class program, some students may benefit from additional private instruction though it is not required. Students enrolled in our summer or spring math program receive a discounted price on private tutoring. Private tutoring is available throughout the week and can supplement your student’s experience.
