Get out the sun block and books!

Looking for more than just play this summer? Does your child go back to school after summer break and it takes them a month or so to get back into the swing of things? Well, at LLC, your child will have the best summer ever with a lot of exciting trips and a lot of educational classes that they attend each week. Lighthouse offers a fantastic program where students receive 4 classes and 2 field trips each week.

The focus of the academic classes is to engage the students in a fun and creative learning environment.  The classes are hands on where students are actively engaged and having fun learning.  Some sample activities; in the science class, students are given materials and they are asked to build the strongest suspension bridge.  In a math lesson, work in groups with manipulatives and not working on worksheets.  Students are given section of a pizza and asked to discuss the reasoning behind fractions.  These are a couple of sample assignments.  Students will be in age appropriate groups.

The goal of the activity and field trip portion is to allow kids to be kids. At LLC, we understand the value of having fun and going places. Kids at the end of our summer program often comment that this is the "BEST" summer ever. Below, you can see the many different field trips we attend each week and in addition, we also go out on a daily basis so that they can run around and play organized activities with others (doesn't this sound better than your kids sitting at home playing video games).

In addition, our facilitiy has over 2,500 sq. ft of playing space including a basketball hoop, a trampoline, jumper and more..

Academic Classes

One of the primary goals of LLC's summer program is academics. We offer four academic classes a week which are included in the weekly cost. The classes are seven weeks long and classes are also offered for individual enrollment (without participation in the All-day summer program). Individual classes are $115. A $60 dollar discount is available to take all four classes ($400 total). Classes run from June 21-August 6, 2010
